Global agricultural machinery leader TYM (Co-CEOs: Hiyong Kim and Dohoon Kim / 002900) announced on the 10th that its tractors were presented directly to local farmers by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the 50th ‘Gawad Saka’ Awards and Farm Machinery Handover Ceremony, held on June 30 (local time) in Nueva Ecija, Philippines.

The event was attended by key Philippine government officials, including President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Secretary of Agriculture Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., and Dionisio G. Alvindia, Director of the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech). In a rare move, the president personally handed over agricultural equipment—including TYM tractors—to local farming communities.

This ceremony was a key milestone in the Philippine government’s agricultural modernization strategy, conducted under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) to drive long-term policies for improving agricultural productivity, increasing farm incomes, and strengthening regional self-reliance. By distributing the latest TYM tractors on site, President Marcos demonstrated a strong commitment to raising mechanization standards and enhancing the competitiveness of agricultural producers nationwide.

Following the supply of 900 tractors to the Philippine market in the first half of 2024, TYM is set to deliver an additional 320 units in the second half, maintaining steady growth in the region. Further orders are expected this year, signaling even greater product competitiveness and brand recognition in the local market.

TYM views this ceremony as more than a simple equipment delivery—it marks a crucial step in establishing a stable foundation for growth in the Philippines. Through comprehensive support programs encompassing training, maintenance, and after-sales service, TYM is contributing to a systematic improvement of local agricultural infrastructure, further strengthening customer trust and satisfaction. In close partnership with its official Philippine distributor, Fit Corea, TYM is also expanding its customer base by enhancing service, parts supply, and tailored training.

Looking ahead, TYM plans to accelerate its expansion across Southeast Asia, with the Philippines as a strategic hub. By introducing new products customized for local environments and crops, and by establishing a robust customer support system—from stable parts supply to training and after-sales service—TYM aims to further consolidate its position in the global agricultural machinery market.

Kim Ho-kyum, Head of Global Sales at TYM, said, “The Philippine president’s adoption and direct presentation of TYM tractors to farmers is a testament to our technological excellence and brand credibility on the international stage. We will continue to make every effort to strengthen our customer base and secure our position in the market, while accelerating our expansion into Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries.
