TYM has expanded its engagement with future customers by providing autonomous agricultural machinery technology education and fostering community exchanges.
Global agricultural machinery specialist TYM (Co-CEOs: Hiyong Kim, Dohoon Kim / 002900) announced on the 13th that it conducted training and on-site practice using its autonomous rice transplanter ‘RGO-690’ for the Department of Agricultural Life Industry at Seogwipo Industrial Science High School in Jeju on the 9th.
The recent training session took place in a rice paddy spanning approximately 4,000 pyeong in Sinpyeong-ri, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju. More than 30 students and staff members from Seogwipo Industrial Science High School participated, receiving an enthusiastic response. This was the first official educational event held since TYM donated the RGO-690 to the school in March to support talent development and agricultural advancement. During the session, TYM’s Jeonnam service team provided instruction on the operation and basic maintenance of the rice transplanter. Participants had the opportunity to experience advanced agricultural technology firsthand by operating the RGO-690’s autonomous driving features and other smart farming technologies, as well as conducting actual rice planting in the field.
On the 13th, the “Jeju Rice Planting Festival” will be held at the same location. Hosted by the “Shinpyeong In-nong Ieum Learning Community,” this event will see participation from 12 local daycare centers in Jeju. The children will experience traditional rice planting methods and then observe the autonomous driving capabilities of the RGO-690. In line with the educational community’s commitment to ecological learning and regional collaboration, TYM plans to provide opportunities for children to naturally encounter the future of agricultural technology.
The TYM RGO-690 is the nation’s first autonomous rice transplanter to pass the comprehensive domestic performance test for an autonomous driving system, earning it the title of ‘National Certification No. 1’. As a cutting-edge agricultural machine, it is garnering attention as a leader in the era of smart farming. Through this event, TYM aims to expand engagement with future generations and potential customers, widely promote the technological excellence of its autonomous rice transplanter, and raise awareness of the brand and its products. Furthermore, TYM plans to contribute to the spread of value in domestic agriculture and support sustainable development.
A TYM representative stated, “Through this training and hands-on practice, we are honored to directly share TYM’s advanced agricultural technology with the local community and future generations. Smart farming technologies such as autonomous driving and precision agriculture are key drivers for enhancing the sustainability of agriculture. Moving forward, we will continue to take the lead in shaping the future of agriculture not only through technological development, but also by strengthening cooperation with educational institutions and local communities.”
