  • Actively collaborating with UNFAO to achieve sustainable development goals

TYM diversifies global ESG management for sustainable agriculture.

TYM announced on the 13th that it participated in the Global Conference on Sustainable Agriculture Mechanization (GCSM) hosted by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UNFAO) from September 25th to 29th.

TYM expanded the practice of ESG management, one of the core operations of the company, on a global scale, and participated in this event to exert more effort in addressing the UN’s key goal of global food security. Through the exhibition and support of key products, as well as the promotion of ESG management activities and achievements, TYM expressed solidarity with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and demonstrated a commitment to ongoing collaboration.

During this event, TYM drew attention to its history of being the first in the domestic agricultural machinery industry to declare ESG management, as well as its relief activities for Ukrainian refugees affected by war and for earthquake-stricken refugees in Turkey. This stems from a management policy aimed at ending poverty and pursuing sustainable agriculture through technological innovation such as autonomous driving. Additionally, TYM showcased the tractor ‘T475H’ at the event, standing alongside global agricultural machinery companies such as John Deere, Case IH, and CLAAS.

TYM intends to not only conclude with this conference but also to continue focusing on various global issues such as poverty and hunger cessation through ongoing collaboration with UNFAO and empathizing with worldwide humanitarian problems. Furthermore, TYM plans to concentrate on internalizing ESG management that strives for sustainable technological development.

Meanwhile, GCSM, hosted by UNFAO, is a global event designed to explore and exchange ways to practice Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as ‘No Poverty’ and ‘Zero Hunger.’ This year’s themes include mechanization for sustainable crop production, post-harvest management and agricultural processing, climate change and resilience, and environmental support for digitalization.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collective global goal of humanity to realize the ideals of sustainable development resolved at the 70th UN General Assembly in 2015, to be achieved by 2030. With the slogan ‘Leave no one behind,’ SDGs provide direction for humanity to move forward in five areas: people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnerships, with 17 goals and 169 specific targets.

A TYM representative stated, “We were able to successfully conclude with accolades for the outstanding product performance and product design of our tractor.” This representative also added, “As we have a strong commitment to participate in and improve the UN’s global concerns, we plan to continue closely collaborating in the future.”
